Bo Babys are small dragon-like spirits, each contributing their own part to nature. Whether it’s spreading mushrooms in the forest or shaping the mountains, they all play a role. They live in a world made entirely of nature — one they created themselves. Recognizable by their dragon-like form and their big, round yellow eyes, they otherwise adapt to the element they are responsible for.

a German artist. Since 2019, I’ve been inspiring people to draw through “draw-with-me” sessions, tutorials, and art challenges on my YouTube channel. About a year ago, I decided to create and illustrate my own world, which gradually brought the Bo Babys to life. I’ve always been a big fan of dragons and fantasy, a fascination I particularly capture through acrylic paintings. I’ve also loved the idea of portraying dragons — usually seen as dangerous and noble — in a much cuter way, where their “greatest danger” lies in their clumsiness. I’ve documented this creative process on my channel, and my viewers always enjoy engaging with the ideas and helping to name the characters.

Fraya was the first Bo Baby in the group. She is a tiny forest spirit, about the size of a cat. With every step she takes, little mushrooms sprout from the ground. Unsurprisingly, her favorite hobby is taking walks, so she hardly ever uses her wings—except in the evenings, when she flutters up into a tree to rest, as the darkness still scares her a little.

At first glance, Luna looks like a dragon straight out of old tales. She uses her large wings to sweep through the night at dusk, scattering her self-made stars across the sky. Luna is our Star Dragon—proud, perhaps a little arrogant, but above all, always curious and eager to learn and explore.

Lilly is a calm brook dragon. As long as she can spin her water lilies in peace and later give each one a unique scent, she’s probably the happiest dragon in the forest. But woe to anyone who bends a stem or plucks a leaf from her flowers—then she can get quite grumpy!

In mid-2024, the process began to turn the Bo Babys into plush toys, with the plan to release a new Baby for collectors each year. So far, nearly 2,000 Frayas and over 1,500 Lunas have been sold. Lilly is already in production and is set to hit the shelves in early 2026!

To bring more designs to life, the first Bo Baby Blind Boxes were created. These boxes feature several different Bo Babys grouped together—in this case, flowers! A set of 7 Bo Babys called the “Sprouts” has already been designed, with rough clay mock-ups sculpted and painted. These are still concept sketches, but production is currently underway. A box was also made to better visualize the concept.
